INSTALLATION SUGGESTIONS |
||||
| These windows do not come with nail flanges. They were designed for new construction but work well as replacements because they are easy to install. | ||||
| The frames are deeper than normal replacement windows which are an advantage when it comes to installation. There is no need to build stops which would be used in traditional replacement window installs. Because of the deeper frame, the window can be placed directly into a masonry/concrete opening without the need for a wood window buck. | ||||
|
Concrete/Masonry Opening The outside of the frame is notched grooved and designed to be held by concrete. After a hole is cut in a concrete or brick wall, the window, with it's 8" frame, can be set inside of that opening and mortared into place. The window can also be secured with minimally-expanding foam. Once the mortar or foam fills into the notches and grooves in the window frame and sets, the window is held in place. |

Wood Window Buck With the frame being 8" in depth, there is no need for a stop system when installing the windows into a wood window buck. The window can be inserted into the pre-made buck and secured in place by screwing through the 3/4" frame into the wood buck. The unit can then be siliconed on the inside and outside to help with weather seal. |
